#2 - Panera

Located at 751 Roosevelt Rd., this Panera location is perfect for getting work done. Panera is often overlooked as a good working spot, but the primary benefit is large dining room space. Compared to popular coffee shops, Panera is actually designed to handle larger crowds. During the day, the dining rooms often have a lot of open seating space because people prefer to utilize the drive-throughs instead of coming in. This means you can find your own space to call your own for hours at a time.

This becomes even more appealing if you're a fan of Panera food and treats, but that's not even the best part. Panera has recently introduced their Unlimited Sip Club, which is exactly what it sounds like. There is currently a promotion going on for 2 free months of unlimited coffees, teas, and more. It's almost like they want you to spend all day there!

#3 - Starbucks

Starbucks is notorious for their inviting atmosphere, fast internet, and unique seating options. They want you to feel comfortable there and stay for longer periods of time. This doesn't mean that every location is great for doing this, though, because there are other factors at play.

Glen Ellyn has three different Starbucks locations, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. The most popular location is located right in downtown on Crescent Blvd. by the Glen Art Theater. The environment is very inspiring with all the activity that is involved in the downtown area. The drawback is that seating is limited and gets taken quickly with the number of people that come in throughout the day.

The second location is off of Roosevelt Rd. by the Chipotle and Crumbl Cookies. This location has less foot traffic but about the same amount of seating as the downtown Glen Ellyn location. It's a rather uninspiring space with nothing more than busy Roosevelt Rd. to stare at when you want to space out.

The third location is the best location for getting work done in our opinion, and that's the newest Starbucks in Glen Ellyn at the corner of Route 53 and Butterfield Rd by Walmart. This Starbucks is less than five years old and has a brand new, spacious cafe space. Because it's on the fringe of Glen Ellyn and in a more commercial location, there isn't a lot of foot traffic throughout the day, and the drive-through mitigates people coming to place orders they would rather do from their car.

#4 - Blackberry Market

The truth is, we love Blackberry Market. It really captures the beauty and uniqueness of Glen Ellyn, all in one space. We could make a list of the best plumbers in Glen Ellyn, and Blackberry would probably make the list somehow. It's just one of those kinds of places.

Blackberry Market is located on the corner of Main St. and Hillside Ave. directly across from Glen Ellyn Bible Church. The food is amazing, the specialty drinks compete with anything else you've ever thought was the "best thing you've ever had," and don't get us started on the cinnamon rolls.

Their dining room is spacious, especially after the morning rush and after the lunch rush. There is outdoor seating in the summer months and a hidden courtyard that is quaint and charming. As long as there aren't a ton of people in the store, which happens a lot, Blackberry is an inspiring and creative place to get some work done.

#5 - Glen Ellyn Public Library

Located at 400 Duane St., the Glen Ellyn Public Library is one of the nicer libraries you'll find in the western suburbs of Chicago. It's a clean space with plenty of seating and hidden corner desks to really sequester yourself for an intense study session. At the end of the day, it's a library, and you get what you'd expect, but one thing that plays well in GEPL's favor is their cafe on the first floor.

The Cafe hosts a variety of lunch sandwiches and bistro boxes on top of the whole espresso bar menu. This means you could work right through breakfast and lunch, or even dinner if you wanted to. This is a benefit that not many libraries offer.
