Top Five Coffee Spots in Glen Ellyn, IL

#1 - Blackberry Market

Blackberry Market is one of the most well-recognized names in Glen Ellyn, and that’s for a good reason. This cafe is located on the North-East corner of Main St. and Hillside Ave in downtown Glen Ellyn. Over the years, they’ve acquired more and more space for their growing customer base, now offering ample seating indoors and outside during the warmer months. Pro tip: There is a small courtyard to enjoy your coffee in. On a nice summer day, this is one of the nicest places to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Blackberry Market has a large variety of specialty drinks that are made to order and all kinds of different milks and add-ons, no matter what your preference is. If you’re looking for alternative dairy products, Blackberry is a must. In terms of straight black coffee, Blackberry ranks the highest. They serve fresh Intelligentsia coffee with unlimited refills if you stay in the store. Intelligentsia is a well-known, Chicago-founded coffee company that specializes in high-quality roasting. Blackberry Market does their coffee due justice.

#2 - Stam Glen Ellyn

Stam Glen Ellyn is a Chocolaterie, which means they make and sell chocolate creations. Although this is second on the list for coffee, it’s first on the list for aesthetics. The store is full of beautiful wood accents, gold trim, and large velvet seating. Once you order some delectable chocolates or bonbons, grab a handmade espresso or coffee to go.

#3 - Next Stop Coffee Shop

Next Stop Coffee Shop may only be known to a certain group of people in Glen Ellyn: Commuters. This coffee shop is tucked away inside the Glen Ellyn Train Station on Crescent Blvd. They do have limited hours, but this makes sense considering their location and primary customers. You can expect them to be open by 5 am during the week and closing down right before lunchtime.

Next Stop offers a great variety of dairy selections, no matter your preference. They also have little pastries and snacks that are great if you didn’t have time to get something for breakfast on the way out. The black coffee is perfect for a morning commute into the city. They serve Metropolis Coffee, which is an artisan roastery in Chicago, similar to Intelligentsia.

#4 - Einstein Bros. Bagels

Sometimes you can’t go wrong with a well-known name. The only reason why Einstein Bros. made the list is that, although it’s a nationally recognized name, they’ve done a good job of feeling like a local spot in Glen Ellyn. They are located right in the heart of downtown on the corner of Main St. and Duane St. by the Civic Center and Village Offices. They have a smaller indoor space, but it can feel a little hectic if you’re trying to focus on some work. They also have some outdoor seating which again, is a little hectic with people walking by, but it’s nice if you just want to observe the hustle of downtown Glen Ellyn. It should go without saying, but the bagels are good and the coffee pairs nicely.

#5 - Glen Ellyn Public Library

This one may be a surprise, but believe it or not, it’s a good place for a cup of coffee. The Glen Ellyn Public Library has a unique addition that should be present in more public libraries. They have a clean and inviting cafe on the first level, right when you walk in through the main entrance doors. The cafe is modern and has a bunch of options for sandwiches and bistro boxes around lunchtime. There are lots of options for cold drinks and hot drinks, no matter your preference. The coffee is great for extended study times or just wanting to relax and read a new book. A fun perk is the coffee loyalty card. If you buy five drinks, you get your next one free!
